Mission and Doctrine

Our Mission

To the glory of God and in His power, the mission of Grace Fellowship Church is to worship God in Christian fellowship, and make mature disciples of Jesus Christ by proclaiming and practicing God’s Word.

“We proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ” Colossians 1:28

Doctrine

We believe the Scriptures, both Old Testament and New Testament, to be the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, the revelation of God and His will for man, and the divine and final authority for Christian faith and life. [2Tim 3:16; 2Pt 1:21]

We believe in one God, infinitely perfect, and eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. [Deut 6:4; Isa 45:4-5, 21-22; 1Tim 2:5; Mt 1:23; Jn 1:1; Col 2:9, Mt 28:19; 2Cor 13:14]

We believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true man. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life. He was crucified on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice for our sins. He was resurrected bodily from the dead. He ascended into heaven, where He sits at the right hand of God the Father as our High Priest and Advocate. [Mt 1:18; Heb 4:15; Rom 5:8; Mt 28:5-6; Acts 1:1-3,9; Heb 9:24-28; 10:12]

We believe in the person of the Holy Spirit, whose work it is to convict men of sin, regenerate sinners unto belief, indwell, guide, comfort, instruct, and empower believers for godly living, service, and witness. [Jn 3:8; Titus 3:5; Gal 5:16; Jn 14:16f, 26; Rom 15:16; Gal 5:22f; Eph 5:18; 1Cor 12:7, 12ff; Acts 1:8]

We believe that man was created in the image of God, but because Adam fell into sin all men are born in a state of sin, and are dead in sin. Man is unable to save himself and only by the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit can man be made new, and receive spiritual life and eternal salvation. [Gen 1:26; Rom 5:12, 15-19; Eph 2:1; Rom 3:10-12; Col 2:13f; Jn 3:5]

We believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who by God’s grace alone are born of the Holy Spirit, and receive the righteousness of Christ by faith alone. [Rom 4:25; 5:1,9; Eph 1:7; 2:8-9; Phil 3:9]

We believe that the true Church is composed of all those who have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and who by saving faith are united together in the body of Christ of which He is the head. Water baptism, and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances given by Christ to His Church. [1Cor 12:13; Eph 1:22f; 4:3f, 15f; Mt 28:19; 1Cor 11:23-26]

We believe in the return of Jesus Christ to earth a second time, and that His return will be personal, bodily, visible, and sudden. At His return He will consummate His kingdom. [Heb 9:28; 1Th 4:16; 5:2; Heb 12:28]

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead. The believer will be raised to everlasting blessedness with the Lord. The unbeliever will be raised to judgment and everlasting, conscious punishment. The believer will live eternally in the presence of God in a new heaven and new earth. [1Cor 15:20-23, 42-44; Jn 5:28f; 2Th 1:8-10; Rev 21:1-5]
